Poetry captures emotions, paints vivid pictures, or spins tales using a condensed and melodic assembly of words. It can take on a structured form with rhymes and meter dictating the rhythm, or it can flow freely without adhering to any formal constraints.

Urdu poetry holds a rich tradition and encompasses various forms that contribute to the cultural heritage of India and Pakistan. Naseer Turabi highlights the significance of five major Urdu poets: Mir Taqi Mir, Mirza Ghalib, Mir Anees, Muhammad Iqbal, and Josh Malihabadi. Despite the historical influence of the British Raj era, Urdu language and poetry attained official status and recognition. Following the Partition of India in 1947, Urdu poetry became emblematic of nationalistic sentiment for poets and scholars. It is widely cherished in both nations, carrying its performative essence to multicultural metropolitan areas worldwide. Ghazal singing and Qawwali stand as integral expository forms of Urdu poetry that continue to resonate with diverse audiences.

Here this poem written in her native language by Syeda Zainab Sarwari, is a SUFI POEM. Sufi poems drive readers and listeners towards the creator Allah. Such Sufi poems enlace the human heart with the love of the holy Prophet Mohammed (Sallahu alaihi wa alehi sallam).

These photos are of Sayyidah Aminah’s resting place in al-Abwa. 

Rasulallah ﷺ’s (his) mother here when he was only 6 years old. Approximately 50 years later, he came with thousands of his companions. This was the first time he ever returned so what did he do? He wept so intensely and with so much longing that all of the sahaba wept such that their beards soaked with tears. 

He is the leader of creation and the master of the children of Adam ﷺ yet look at his love, yearning and humility for his noble mother.

Billion of women created but Lady Amina was chosen to carry the light of Rasulallah ﷺ. 

She was the first to gaze upon his beautiful face. She was the first to embrace him, to kiss him, to hug him, and to rejoice his birth. 

His birth ﷺ in Makkah was so illuminated and miraculous that Sayyidah Aminah was able to see the Palaces of Shaam. 

She lost her husband so soon after her marriage and it hurt so much but on the day, she looked at the Beloved ﷺ for the first time, her heart was cured.

He went through the most tests but he was not seen except he would be praising Allah for His innumerable gifts. He lived through the most difficulty, yet a moment has not passed except that he has comforted the entire world through his mercy and kindness. رضى الله عنها

Al-Abwā’ (Arabic: ٱَلْأَبْوَاء) is a Hejazi village between Mecca and Medina belonging to the area of Rabigh, on the western coast of Saudi Arabia. The Islamic Prophet Muhammad entered it before the Battle of Badr, in 2 Safar A.H.

Moreover, historical record shows, al-Abwa is the place where Rasulallah ﷺ’s mother, Aminah bint Wahb ibn Abd Manaf, died. 

It was here that Rasulallah ﷺ’s cousin, Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith, adopted Islam. 

Famous Imam and direct descendant of Rasulallah ﷺ, Musa al-Kadhim (R.), was born in this town.

In 1995, Shaykh Nurjan became a disciple of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani for an in-depth education in Islamic spirituality. He traveled and learned about Islamic spiritual practices worldwide alongside Shaykh Kabbani and has since been involved in establishing various Islamic educational organizations and relief programs across the globe.

Additionally, Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani and Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, two world leaders of the Nashbandi Tariqa, have granted Shaykh Nurjan written authorization to be a spiritual guide. He is now authorized to teach, guide, and counsel religious students worldwide in Islamic spirituality.

Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi has an extensive background in teaching and traveling worldwide, including countries such as Uzbekistan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Cyprus, Argentina, Peru, and North America. He imparts knowledge on the spiritual sciences of Classical Islam, covering meditation (tafakkur), subtle energy points (lata’if), Islamic healing, the secrets of letters and numbers (ilm huroof), self-discipline (tarbiyya), and the process of self-realization (ma’arifat). His teachings revolve around the prophetic ways of kindness, respect, and harmonious living within communities. He places significant emphasis on good manners and respect, often reminding his students that the spiritual journey commences from within by stating, “You can’t give what you don’t have.”

Shaykh as-Sayyid Nurjan has made significant strides in spreading the spiritual teachings of Classical Islam globally through his books and online presence. In today’s digital age, his outreach to a new generation of spiritual seekers through the Internet is truly commendable.

Additionally, his Facebook pages “Shaykh Sayed Nurjan Mirahmadi” and “Nur Muhammad” together have over 200,000 likes, while his YouTube Channel “The Muhammadan Way” has exceeded 1 million views. Furthermore, his Google page, Shaykh Sayed Nurjan Mirahmadi, has attained over 2.7 million views.

Shaykh Mirahmadi’s focus on utilizing social media to disseminate knowledge globally has led to the establishment of an Online University, SimplyIman.org, in 2015. This initiative aims to further extend the reach of traditional Spiritual Islamic teachings and make them accessible to seekers worldwide.

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” A saying that most of us know underlines the importance of teaching others valuable skills and knowledge in business rather than providing temporary solutions.

Alhamdullilah exactly following this proverb Sheikh Eshref Efendi from The World Peace Institut of Sufism in cooperation with the Mumbai Central Residents and Businessmen Association short listed about 12 females from the outskirts slums of Mumbra who were doing odd jobs to earn their living. They use to stitch shopping bags etc and would earn 20 to 30 rupees for stitching a bag. We appointed a professional trainer to teach them the cutting and stitching skills of ladies dresses and pants so that these skill enable them to earn more money respectfully. We trained them good under these professional hands for 3 months.

After they completed their training we gave them each an automatic electric sewing machine so that they can independently start their entrepreneurial venture. Further we assured them that for the next 6 months we will be doing hand holding till they don’t need us. For the next 6 months we will be monitoring their income with an intention to guide them on how to upgrade and grow.

May Allah accept this and reward all of us who are directly and indirectly involved in this noble cause. without whom we would not have achieved this task. May Allah Bless Us All.

Upon hearing that a hospital in Karachi had established a milk bank for babies, Mohammad Munawwar felt an immense sense of relief.

With his wife critically ill and their premature son Ayan in the hospital, the 52-year-old father had been tirelessly collecting milk from various female relatives who were breastfeeding their own babies, multiple times a day. His joy was short-lived; the bank closed last month due to complaints from Islamic clerics, even before a single ounce could be deposited. This decision left disheartened not only Munawwar but also the doctors who had dedicated over 12 months to the bank.

According to the international news media theguardian.com, Dr Jamal Raza said, “We had been working on the bank [for] a year and had been in intense discussions with the religious clerics from Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi [for] the last eight months,” He is the executive director of the Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN), which had established  as the first-ever milk bank in Pakistan, in collaboration with Unicef.

He remarked, the bank was inaugurated on 12 June. Before that, the scholars had raised several concerns, all of which were addressed, and after finally getting a nod from the seminary.

Finally, the seminary has now withdrawn their fatwa of assent, saying it had new advice, the hospital minght find it not only “difficult but almost impossible to adhere to the strict conditions” set down by the institution’s clerics.

Pakistan Ulema Council’s Chairperson Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said, “The objective of the doctors who wanted to set up the human milk bank may be in good faith, but we concur with Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, and do not think it needs to be encouraged,” though he refused to elaborate.

The kinship tie is the source of the complexity. According to Islamic law, if a baby is breastfed by a woman who is not its original mother, the newborn and any of that woman’s other children cannot get married in the future.

Concerns are exacerbated by the fact that milk can be blended from multiple sources and anonymous contributors are  in the 750 milk banks spread across almost 70 different countries.

Physician Hassan Jabbar, who oversees the 52-bed newborn unit, stated that Ayan is not the only infant whose life is at risk. Premature babies stay in the facility until they are well enough to return home, usually five to eight in total. For example, a baby born at 26 weeks will stay for an average of six weeks.

Doctors warn that there are risks associated with formula milk in areas where there is a lack of adherence to recommended practices like as sterilising bottles and teats or ensuring that the water used for mixing is clean. “To save money, mothers from lower socioeconomic groups frequently dilute the amount of milk powder in the water to make it last longer,” according to Akram.

Akram claimed, Despite laws promoting breastfeeding, formula marketing is nevertheless persistent and has an effect. It is currently against the law for businesses that manufacture breastmilk substitutes to contact healthcare facilities or for medical experts to endorse their goods.

Pakistani moms exclusively breastfeed their children in just 48% of cases, compared to 64% in India and 65% in Bangladesh. 82% of mothers in Sri Lanka nurse their infants for the first six months of life.

When contacted for comment, the clerics remained silent.
