10 Years ago at the Sultan Bahu Drug Rehab Center, we encountered a young patient with a remarkable singing voice. I asked him if he had ever recited salawat on the Prophet ﷺ, but he had never heard of it. I explained the significance of salawat, the blessings that Allah and His angels send upon the Prophet ﷺ, and encouraged him to learn and practice it.
The young man took my words to heart, and after some time, he returned to present the Abiyat of Hazr sultanul Bahu. It was not only his first recitation but also the first time anyone from our community in Cape Town had ever performed it. His voice echoed with a new sense of purpose, marking a profound moment of spiritual connection and cultural significance.
Sultan Bahu Drag Rehab Center began to work nearly 40 years ago, among the golden mine dumps and bustling industrial region at the heart of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Today, the Center has offices in all South Africa’s major cities and has defined itself as a social welfare specialist through many years of consistent and impeccable outreach service work.
