Shaykh Tahir ul Qadri (Hafida’ullah) attended the historic Grand Sirah Conference, took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
His Eminence Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founder and patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International addressed the Grand Sirat-ul-Nabiﷺ Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed concerns about the negative impact of social media on the youth, stating that fatwas are being issued for financial gain. He highlighted how the moral values of young people are being corrupted and how Islam is being misrepresented through abusive language. These are leading to a lack of trust in the religion among the new generation. Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized that Islam promotes values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, and security, but these values are being overshadowed by distorted teachings. He called upon religious leaders to address these challenges and restore the true essence of Islamic teachings in order to counteract the negative influence.
In his address, he emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and security, and that the Prophet of Islam taught for the betterment of humanity. He highlighted that Islam teaches love and brotherhood, not hatred and revenge. He condemned those who use social media to issue fatwas of disbelief while masquerading under the cloak of religious authority, stating that they are distorting the true values of religion for personal gains. He called upon the community to reject such abusive behavior and emphasized the importance of educating the youth to prevent the spread of a hateful environment. He also stressed the need to discourage blasphemous elements.
Furthermore, he mentioned that those who wish to seek approval from Allah should follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He informed the audience about a book ceremony on Fitna Khawarij and anti-terrorism, where a 600-page book was presented, containing a detailed discussion on Fitna Khawarij in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
