Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri stressed the significance of Tawbah, highlighting that every Muslim has a duty to seek repentance from Allah. Repentance plays a crucial role in categorizing individuals into two groups: those who sincerely repent and those who continue to transgress. There is no middle ground. Failing to show remorse leads one down the path of wrongdoing, as Allah instructs us to consistently seek His forgiveness.
Shaykh-ul-Islam emphasized that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would seek repentance more than 70 times a day, and in another narration, more than 100 times. Even though the prophets were infallible and pure, they still engaged in repentance to elevate their statuses. For them, seeking repentance was a way to draw closer to Allah. As for believers, it is mandatory in all circumstances to turn away from the darkness of disbelief and move towards the light of faith and obedience.
The speaker explained that Tawbah involves returning to Allah Almighty, embracing obedience, piety, and righteousness. It signifies the transition from disbelief to belief, from disobedience to obedience, and acknowledging that the capability to perform good deeds is a blessing from Allah Almighty, not of our own making.
The importance of continuously striving for the spread of Allah’s deen while maintaining humility and gratitude was emphasized by Shaykh-ul-Islam. It is a blessing from Allah Almighty that empowers us to serve His deen. When we engage in charitable acts or righteous deeds, we should never view it as a favor we have done. Instead, we should realize that Allah Almighty has selected us as His servants. It is essential to seek the company of the righteous and chosen servants of Allah and to distance oneself from those who incur Allah Almighty’s displeasure in order to safeguard guidance.
During his discussion, emphasized the concept of Tawbah as the act of returning to obedience and righteousness, and ultimately, returning to Allah Almighty. This concept involves a transition from disbelief to belief and from disobedience to obedience. The scholar emphasized that the ability to perform good deeds is a blessing from Allah Almighty, underscoring that it is not of our own making.
The Shaykh-ul-Islam emphasized the importance for believers to actively engage in the spread of Allah’s deen while maintaining a humble and thankful attitude. He highlighted that it is a blessing from Allah Almighty that allows us to serve His deen. When engaging in charitable acts or righteousness, one should never consider it a favor done, but rather recognize it as an opportunity given by Allah Almighty. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from those who are devoted to righteousness, while avoiding the company of those who provoke the wrath of Allah Almighty.
Emphasizing the importance of sincere intentions, Shaykh-ul-Islam referred to Rabia Basri’s emphasis on worshipping Allah Almighty purely for His sake, rather than out of fear of Hell or desire for Heaven. True love for Allah Almighty involves seeking nothing but His pleasure.
Shaykh-ul-Islam concluded with a heartfelt prayer for all participants, asking Allah Almighty to grant them purity and the strength to follow the path of righteousness.
Esteemed attendees and a significant gathering of youth from across Australia graced the event with their presence.
