(A Brief Biography of Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani)

He founded and serves as head of the Islamic Supreme Council of America (ISCA), an educational non-governmental organization that promotes moral excellence in individuals. In addition to organizing several conferences and aggressively promoting traditional and moderate Islamic viewpoints, ISCA has also actively participated in interreligious dialogue and led a number of peace initiatives.

Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil (d. 2014) and Hajjah Amina bint Ayesha (d. 2004), a shaykha and Islamic scholar who wrote extensively on the lives of the prophets and whose family managed to flee religious persecution in Tatarstan, Russia, are the parents of Hajjah Naziha, the eldest child.
Moreover, Shaykh Kabbani is a member of the Board of World Religious Leaders at the Elijah Interfaith Institute as well. On the other hand, Shaykh Kabbani was acknowledged in 2001 and 2002 as one of the few Muslim intellectuals of that era who had issued a warning on the dangers of violent extremism.
In contrary, the terrorist organization known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, which espouses Salafism and Wahhabism, labeled him a murtad (or apostate) in the April 2016 issue of Dabiq Magazine.
