Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah, wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah.
Today is such a blessed day. Allāh جل جلاله calls it Yawmu t-Tarwiyah. Not tarbiyah, but Tarwiyah – the day before Yawmu ‘Arafah. These are holy days, shukr to Allāh جل جلاله. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave them to Ummati Muḥammad for us to earn more rewards. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave us these days in order to give us more gifts. We must appreciate these days.
Tomorrow is Yawmu ‘Arafah. Certainly, ḥajjīs have started going up the mountain of ‘Arafāt today. And tomorrow, people present there will carry out their duty of ḥajj. They will carry out this order which was made obligatory, farḍ, by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla – those who can. Many people cannot, of course. For those who can, this burden will be lifted.
Because farḍ is a big debt. It is a big burden for people. Whoever can, should do it immediately. They must not delay it for later, because it will be more difficult to be deprived of its barakah due to the fault or mistake of not doing it. Therefore, who can perform this farḍ should do it as much as he can without delay.
Certainly, it is not done easily nowadays. You can go everywhere in the world [today], but when it comes to ḥajj, by the wisdom of Allāh جل جلاله, there is an obstacle or something. In old times, the distance was too far. There were people who blocked the way. Ḥajjīs were robbed. There were diseases and all. Therefore, by the wisdom of Allāh جل جلاله, there is always some hardship. People who are able to go, who can overcome those hardships, must certainly go. They must not skip it. “I will go next year.” We cannot determine even the next second, let alone next year. Therefore, we must make intention. And Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will grant your intention. When people intend to go to ḥajj next year, they will do it if they can. If they cannot, Allāh جل جلاله will reward them for their intention. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the most merciful.
Therefore, this matter is important. And for those who couldn’t go there, it brings great thawāb to them to be busy with worship on Yawmu ‘Arafah. Their thawāb is tenfold, seventy fold, seven hundred fold, seven thousand fold, in the presence of Allāh جل جلاله. Allāh جل جلاله knows how much He جل جلاله will give. People must do as much as they can. At least, they must fast. If they have missed prayers, they should make them up. They should make ṣalawāt and recite a
thousand times Ikhlāṣu sh-Sharīf until the evening. Rewards for all of them are in the presence of Allāh جل جلاله
Also, ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥá is coming. ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥá is the day of of holy worship. The sacrifice (qurbān) is made after the ‘Īd prayer, not before. But it is wājib to make qurbān after the prayer according to the Ḥanafī madhhab. According to other madhhabs, it is sunnah mu’akkadah. As they don’t have wājib, they call it sunnah mu’akkadah. They make qurbān if they want to, or don’t make it if they don’t want. But those in Ḥanafī madhhab who have money may make qurbān. It is wājib to do so. They earn the reward of wājib, and also may keep all the meat to themselves, if they can’t afford too much. They may keep it or eat it. It is not like a vow sacrifice. People confuse them a lot here. You cannot eat from the vow sacrifice but you can eat from ‘aqīqah. People mix these as well. There are deranged scholars – not scholars, but hodjas – who have no idea about fiqh or religion. They tell people that ‘aqīqah and qurbān cannot be eaten. That is not valid. That is not right. The right thing is that it can be eaten. The only sacrificial animal that can’t be eaten is the vow sacrifice. The rest can all be eaten. As we said, those who can’t afford it may keep all of it to themselves. They will earn thawāb and keep their provision for a year, or as they like. And they may eat it.
Also, there will be takbīr made starting from tomorrow morning. Every day until ‘aṣr of the third day of ‘Īd, we will make takbīr, starting after fajr prayer tomorrow. It is also wājib for us to make it after the farḍ of each prayer. Many people forget to do it. If they don’t forget, they must certainly do it. They can’t make it up. Congratulating each other on these days of ‘Īd, celebrating and coming together also become a means of reward. People get to see each other, pray for each other and keep each other company. ‘Īd is spent nicely then. It is also nice to make children happy on ‘Īd. In old times, new clothes were bought only on ‘Īds. They would also take children out, and it was a real feast. Nowadays, people don’t do so anymore. They have added a hundred other holidays close to the ‘Īds. Such and such a holiday, pickle holiday, chicken holiday, I don’t know what holiday. There are many nonsense things, only for people to spend money on them. That is a plot of shayṭān for people to forget the value of the ‘Īds. May Allāh جل جلاله give guidance to people.
May Allāh جل جلاله give guidance, because people have gone wild. They used to say Pharaoh was so. Compared to the people of this time, Pharaoh is little and poor. People nowadays . . . At least when he was in trouble, he used to say to Sayyidunā Mūsá (as), “Tell your Lord, if He .جل جلاله removes this punishment from us, we will repent.” He knew about the existence of Allāh جل جلاله. When Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām removed their suffering, they managed for some time. But afterwards, people glorified him once again and inflated his ego. He puffed up more and more and claimed, “I am your biggest god.” Sayyidunā Mūsá (as) came, and another punishment came from Allāh جل جلاله. They got confused and asked Sayyidunā Mūsá (as) once again, “O Mūsá, pray to Allāh جل جلاله. If this disaster goes away, we will believe once again.” So many disasters came to them. They knew why. They repented, then they broke again. That was Pharaoh.
But people of this time don’t know anything about Allāh جل جلاله. May Allāh جل جلاله protect us. All people of this time have become pharaohs. They are worse than pharaohs. Therefore, we have what we have today. The whole world is having it. This hot temperature is the heat of hell. They call this heat “fayḥu jahannam”. There has not been such heat before. Come on, get up. You don’t like Muslims, you don’t recognise Allāh جل جلاله, and you don’t respect the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Let us see how you can make it cool now. “We have made a hole in the ozone layer. We will cut this and do that.” All the filth originates from your ego and is projected onto external dirtiness. You have made everywhere dirty.
Therefore, may Allāh جل جلاله protect us. May Allāh جل جلاله protect us from their evil. We are not from them. We don’t accept what they do. We don’t accept anything that they say. We don’t accept any of their words and actions against Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. We will not curse them. But we ask that Allāh جل جلاله improves them. Otherwise, the misfortune of this thing is enough for everyone and the whole world. May Allāh جل جلاله protect us. May Allāh جل جلاله help us to protect our īmān.
There is great oppression. There is enormous evil in this world now. All these things are because of that. The temperature is around fifty degrees today. Fruit and vegetables have all burnt. And people are another matter. People with two pennies think they rule over the world. “I will cover the sun. I will do this and that.” Do it now if you can, O kāfirs, O faithless, O oppressors. May Allāh جل جلاله protect us from their oppression, in shā’a Llāh.
Today, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, we are in blessed day, eighth of Dhū l-Ḥijjah, which it is blessed day Allāh جل جلاله gave us. Allāh جل جلاله give Sayyidunā Muḥammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, from His جل جلاله blessing, from His جل جلاله barakah. We are happy we get this good thing. It is eighth of Dhū l-Ḥijjah, which it is blessed day. This day, ḥajjī people, pilgrims, they are moving from Makkah to ‘Arafāt, for complete their ḥajj. And we are here, in shā’a Llāh, also, we are happy for this people, which it is very important, for tomorrow is Yawmu ‘Arafah, ninth of Dhū l-Ḥijjah. It is one day in year.
This day, who be in certain place, limited place; whole world, only very small, limited place, in limited time, you must be. If you are there, you are ḥajjī. You complete your ḥajj, the order of Allāh جل جلاله for Muslim, for believer.
This is one of, fifth order from Allāh جل جلاله: ḥajj. “Ḥijju l-bayti mani staṭā‘a ilayhi sabīla” (3:97). Who can afford, who can go for ḥajj, it is obligatory for him to do this. And it is, all time – to be in ḥajj, to be in Makkah for pilgrimage – it is difficult. It is not easy. For this, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla saying, who can afford this – he can go there, this – it is for him, obligatory. If you have this thing, and everything you have: have money, have visa, you have health, so don’t make it long.
Maybe this year you cannot – after this, it is impossible to go there. But next year or other years, you must be make it, because you don’t know if you . . . Many people they, “Oh I will do after, when I will go old.” When you go . . . why you go . . . Even for one hour after, you cannot guess if you will die or you are alive. So you must quickly, as much possible, to do this order of Allāh جل جلاله
And of course, as we said, it is not easy. Old time, there was difficult to travel, too much expensive. Not like this now. They say expensive but it’s still, to old time comparing, it is not expensive at all. Other, it’s very expensive. Very dangerous also. Old time there was people, they don’t have mercy. This, they people, they going for pilgrimage. They don’t have anything to fight or to save. They was robbing them. They was killing them, when they going there. For this, it was difficult. Now, also difficult. So it is from Allāh جل جلاله. Allāh جل جلاله make something to be for difficult for ḥajjī, because He جل جلاله will make it more reward.
For this, who can afford going for ḥajj, he must quickly finish this order. What Allāh جل جلاله order him, to obey and to be complete their religion thing. One of them, this. One of important thing for life, for human being, for believer. But many people, as we said, they make it not important for themselves. [They make it] important, more important, to go for holiday, to go for any place to enjoy themselves. This, what we said, for Muslim this, not for non-Muslim what we said. Many Muslim, they like to enjoy themselves more than going ḥajj and make what Allāh جل جلاله order them.
For this, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, we are in time, as we said, for ḥajj. And it is limited time, limited place. Which now, new [thing] they say. They thought they are clever. There is people who are saying for Muslim, “We must make ḥajj whole year. Why only one day? And we must make it, maybe bigger. Maybe put some thing, hotels and others, there, so people, they can go whole year to make ḥajj in ‘Arafāt.” This is very idiot, very traitor people, khā’in. They are not praying one rak‘ah. They are not fasting one hour. But for other people, they make to destroy their belief. But, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, nobody . . . when they are saying something, it is more against, people, they laughing on them. And they thought, when who doing this, they thought they are doing good, they are succeed. But never, never they will succeed. So this is for who are in ḥajj. But we are here also. We are living in Muslim, with Muslim people. We are also celebrate.
Tomorrow, Yawmu ‘Arafah. It is very blessed day. We must, as much we can, do charity, do praying. We are fasting, al-ḥamdu liLlāh. Who not fasting today, tomorrow you can be, one day for ‘Arafah also. It is big reward from Allāh جل جلاله. And to read at least thousand of Sūratu l-Ikhlāṣ, Qul huwa Llāhu Aḥad. And make tahlīl, takbīr, tasbīḥ, ṣalawāt – all this. Whole day we can do, in shā’a Llāh.
And next, ten[th] of Dhū l-Ḥijjah, you know it is feast, ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥá, which it is order for to cut sheep or goat or cow. Buffalo also can be, no problem. Camel. This is, people they can make this. In our madhhab – we are Ḥanafī. There four madhhab. Only Ḥanafī madhhab, it is like, wājib. It is between sunnah mu’akkadah and farḍ, obligatory. This is for only in Ḥanafī madhhab. So he has his madhhab and he has enough money and he is not travelling, he can be, he must cut one sheep. If he cannot, okay, no problem, if he no have money. But even anybody he has, he is not so rich, or not rich, he can cut and keep this meat for himself. Can eat one, for one year, or six months or three months. He can keep it now these days. Old day also they was drying and keep it. No problem. This is ḥalāl meat. Or if he has more, he can distribute to people and he can eat also. And this is one of best meat for believer to eat because this is from blessed day and order of Allāh جل جلاله. And for others, other madhhab, they can . . . They are free. They can cut or not cut because they are, at their madhhab, sunnah; not wājib or farḍ. But if they to cut, better, because Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, he صلى الله عليه وسلم was doing every time, and he صلى الله عليه وسلم was choosing good sheep to cut. For other thing, as we said, it is . . . But it must be after Ṣalātu l-‘Īd, not before Ṣalātu l-‘Īd. Before Ṣalātu l-‘Īd it cannot, not acceptable. After Ṣalātu l-‘Īd.
And three, four days for to be with family, to be with friend, to meet each other. Also Allāh جل جلاله reward you for this because mu’min when he meet another mu’min, he will be . . . Allāh happy with him. Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, we are in time which it is difficult for believer, for Muslim, for everybody difficult. But it is reward, big reward for believer.
Because we are living in time, it is very dangerous. This time, when I said Fir‘awn . . . Pharaoh. You know Pharaoh? Maybe nowadays people they are not knowing real Pharaoh, because they don’t have any knowledge about Fir‘awn. They said, “Fir‘awn – like pyramid and other thing in Egypt.” Just looking this. But he was real oppressor one. The most oppressor. And he claim he is god. Allāh جل جلاله send him Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām. And Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām was speaking to him and he said, he not accept. Every time said Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām, “If you not accept this, Allāh جل جلاله will curse you and send some bad thing for you.” He said, “Okay, send.” So first, they send, like bugs. Every time, every day, everywhere it was full of bugs. They eating their blood. And so was waiting, they patient. And after they said, “Okay, Mūsá. Oh Mūsá, tell your Lord if He جل جلاله take this away from us, we will be believer, we accept you.” And Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām, he ask for Allāh جل جلاله and Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, He جل جلاله take this balā’, this bad thing from them. And they was, maybe later little bit, okay. After, again people they make him, praise him and make him, “Oh you are our Lord, you are . . . ” He said, again he come, he said, “Oh I am the biggest god here.” So Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām coming and said, “Allāh جل جلاله will send for you another balā’. Don’t say this.” He said, “Oh okay. That was, it was by accident maybe. I am not accept.” And Allāh جل جلاله send them for, make their water, whole blood. They cannot drink. Everywhere they take water, it become blood. And after this, quickly they said, “Okay, okay, Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām, you –” Not say Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām. Say, “Mūsá, ask your Lord for this.” Many thing like this.
So I said, Fir‘awn was that time, he was poor man, comparing to our time people, because at least he was accept Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, accept Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām, and he said, “Ask your Lord.” At this time, people, they are completely out of way. Not accepting anything, and they say everything come accidentally. How can be accidentally? This time of year, never happen, this, in history. I don’t think it happen like this, in this place, to be like fifty degree in this time. Even then, after this time, never happen. All this coming, Allāh جل جلاله send this test for people to come back to way of Allāh جل جلاله. But people still stubborn. Allāh جل جلاله keep us away from this people. Keep us safe from our people, this people. We are not accepting. They are our people . . . They are not our people. We not accept people who are not accept Allāh جل جلاله, to be our people. They are people of shayṭān. Allāh جل جلاله . . . also we ask for to be hidāyah for them. Because with hidāyah, okay, they are with us. Without hidāyah, we are not accept them. We are away from them. We are completely not accept them.
Allāh جل جلاله help people, Allāh جل جلاله help Muslim, because whole world now with, when they are not accept Allāh جل جلاله, oppression everywhere. Everywhere, there [is] oppression. Who oppressed, they are the believer, they are acceptable people in Divine Presence of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allāh جل جلاله help us. Send Sayyidunā l-Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām to save us from this, to save whole world from this dirtiness. Amīn.
Wa-min Allāhi t-tawfīq, al-Fātiḥah.
