The Highest Example: Shaykh Adil al-Ḥaqqānī

“Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: ‘وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ’, ‘Wa-innaka la-‘alá khuluqin ‘aẓīm’, ‘And indeed, you are of a great moral character.’ (Qur’ān 68:04). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is telling about the attribute of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ. He ﷻ says that he ﷺ is the most perfect person. The most perfect person is the one who has the best Adab (manners), our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. His ﷺ way is for all humanity. Allāh ﷻ sent him ﷺ not only for Muslims, but for all humanity. His ﷺ way is the way of light. Those who follow his ﷺ way will attain all kinds of goodness. Following his ﷺ way is happiness. It is the means to all kinds of goodness.

The greatest goodness is to drink water from his ﷺ pool of Kawthar in ākhirah. Drinking from the water of Al-Kawthar. There will be no evil left in the person who drinks from that water. There will be no more waswasah, no more thoughts. He is not afraid of anyone, he does hold grudges against anyone. He is not hostile to anyone. In paradise, there aren’t such things that are in this world. To cleanse them, one drinks from this pool of Kawthar and enters. You cannot find these attributes and bad deeds in paradise. Of course, they exist in this world as a test. But there isn’t of them in paradise, in ākhirah. And there is so much of them in hell.

Therefore, the way of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ is the way, it is the beautiful way. It is a gift from Allāh ﷻ to people. It is a blessing from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, we are from his ﷺ ummah. It is a greater blessing for us. These holidays were given to the ummah for his ﷺ sake. With the holiday comes both apparent and spiritual gifts. We thank Allāh ﷻ for that.

May our holidays be blessed, in shā’a Llāh. He ﷺ says the ‘Īd of the fasting person is both when breaking his fast at ifṭār and in paradise. We attained the first now. In shā’a Llāh, the second one is to drink from the pool of Kawthar and attain that great holiday. In shā’a Llāh we all attain that. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.”
