A very productive meeting took place between Shaykh Saqib Iqbal Hh and Shaykh Abu Hasan Hh who have only been in contact previously through telephonic conversations, exchanging views and discussing a variety of Islamic issues.
In this first meeting between the Shuyukh, similar to their telephonic conversations, a wide range of subjects were discussed, deliberated and explored in a manner appropriate of traditional scholarship. Shaykh Abu Hasan discussed his future plans and showed his literary projects to Shaykh Saqib revolving around Aqaid, Fiqh and Hadith as well as his English translations and scholastic commentaries of renowned Islamic texts.
The Shuyukh also discussed Shaykh Saqib Iqbal’s literary masterpiece “Subhan ar Rahman Anil Jism wal Jihati wal Makan” (An academic work on Al Asmā was Sifāt and a refutation of anthropomorphism in Islam) as well as Shaykh Saqib’s latest upcoming scholastic work on the science of Hadith.
Shaykh Abu Hasan exhibited century old manuscripts (can be seen in the pictures below) of Arabic grammar that belonged to his noble grandfather as he explained their origin and ancestry to Shaykh Saqib Iqbal Hh. Shaykh Abu Hasan Hh belongs to a notable scholarly family from both parental sides and many from his lineage are highly qualified individuals in both the sciences of the religion and western scholarship.
Shaykh Saqib Iqbal Hh aswell as the brothers travelling with him were impressed with the hospitality shown by Shaykh Abu Hasan as well as the Shaykh’s son who will continue his familys legacy, becoming the torch bearer for the future generations. Brother Hasan’s etiquette, intelligence and humility are qualities to be admired and we pray that Allah Almighty preserves him and protects him from all vice.
We also thank Shaykh Abu Hasan for his generous dawat, all the food that was prepared at his residence and his kind hospitality for our spiritual guide and master, Shaykh Saqib Iqbal Hh. May Allah bless the Shuyukh in this world and the next.
