Special Police Party member Shaikh Arshad has been deployed for security duty on the trekking route in the hilly and forest area. He carried the 58-year-old Hindu devotee Mangi Nageswaramma on his shoulder for 6 KM to take her for medical facility. She developed high blood pressure at that time and was unable to walk any more.

The Special Police party saw the woman and her son was crying and desperately seeking help while they were accompanying the devotees on the long route. In a sudden, Shaikh Arshad picked her up on his shoulders and started to run towards the nearest medical facility.

While patting the constable for his efforts, state director general of police Gautam Sawang said, “He walked for almost 6 kms through the difficult terrain to ensure medical assistance for her”.

Nageshwaramma set on the pilgrimage by walk on the route known as “Annamayya route” from Mamanduru village in Kadapa district to go to the famous Sri Venkateshwara temple atop Tirumala Hills, was a devotee among such others.

As usually, it takes two days to complete the pilgrimage ahead of the Ekadasi festival to her and thousands of others.

Constable Arshad previously also helped another old and sick devotee named Nageshwara Rao. He carried that Hindu man on his shoulder to a bus stop from the same place from where he taken this Hindu lady to the hospital.
